Echo Park Earns 2019 Dallas Design Ovation Award
Jun 19, 2019
Dallas, TX – Echo Park at Perry Crossing was awarded 2nd Place for Commercial Single Space, Dedicated Function category at the 2019 Dallas Design Ovation awards ceremony on May 23. Hosted yearly by the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), the award’s aim is to advance the interior design profession and celebrate the impact of design on the human experience.
Echo Park is a 274-unit Class A garden-style community comprised of Big House® and breezeway buildings in Plainfield, Indiana. This upscale, urban inspired project caters to residents in all stages of life and is conveniently located across from the Shops at Perry Crossing near multiple dining, retail and entertainment spots.
Project Manager Niki Landry was lead interior designer on the project and said the overall design goal was to create a comfortable and inviting communal space through the use of warm colors and natural materials, ultimately designed for social engagement or catching up on work.
“The Echo Park clubhouse provides the only indoor amenity space for residents and it required careful consideration for all of the activities typically held at the property. They include a test kitchen for cooking demonstrations, private and community office space for working, a large area for dining, and a TV lounge for catching major sports events or watching parties,” Landry said. “Utilizing a mix of textures, medium-tone woods, and contemporary furnishings provides an ample, relaxed space residents can call home.”
The judges gave Echo Park high marks for design intent and execution. The Ovation award ceremony was held at the Frontiers of Flight Museum in Fort Worth and recognized several other outstanding projects and firms.
