In early September 2019, Octave celebrated a record on-time delivery and effortless move-in process. With 538 beds and 167 units supplied to the over 33,000 students attending The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), this vibrant, 2-building, 7-story, pet-friendly student living experience offers a best-in-class amenity package unlike anywhere else. It is conveniently located in the Midtown area of Champaign, an eclectic district filled with dining and multi-cultural attractions, and two blocks from Campustown which is the heart of the UIUC campus. The twin cities of Champaign and Urbana are home to the 700-acre campus, a flagship institution of the University of Illinois and ranked the #13 Public University in the United States.
Octave was originally named after the developer’s trademarked Next Level of Student Housing® program, however, it was discovered that an American civil engineer and aviation pioneer in the early 1900s named Octave Chanute had ties to the area as well, further giving credence to the building’s namesake.
During late summer of 2019, Octave opened to rave reviews from residents and reached a 90 percent lease up rate due its prime location and walkability to the engineering and science buildings, which are less than 1,000 feet away as well as walking distance to other university facilities. It’s also one of the newest living options in an older student housing market with more student housing projects on the way.
